The Fuikdag party is a popular annual event that takes place on the Caribbean island of Curaçao, which is part of the Netherlands Antilles. It is a celebration of the local Afro-Caribbean culture and traditions, and it is held on the first Sunday of January, this year on January 8th 2023.
The Fuikdag party is a joyous and colorful event that brings people from all walks of life together to celebrate the rich culture and history of Curaçao.
Okay, this is actually not a Klein Curacao Day trip, but Fuikdag is such a popular annual celebration (and held en route to Klein Curacao), so we added it here anyway!

Fuikdag is always celebrated on the first Sunday of the new year, in 2023 this is on Sunday 8 January 2023
We work together with various (smaller) operators who still have places available on their boats.

#1 Several Boats – All-in Price $349 per person
Together these boats have a 60 person capacity. The all-in day tickets include beer, wine, spirits, water, snacks, BBQ and more. These boat will depart from the Spanish Water around 8:30 AM ensuring a central location at the Fuikdag party.
#2 Sail Boat – All-in Price $385
On this 68 Feet sail boat you will be higher up above the water line and have a better overview. The all-in day tickets include beer, wine, spirits, water, snacks, BBQ and more. This boat will depart from the Spanish Water around 8:30 AM ensuring a central location at the Fuikdag party.
Fuikdag 2023
Experience Curaçao’s most fun party – Fuikdag! Every year, on the first Sunday of the New Year, this incredible event takes place in Fuik Bay. Everyone is invited to participate in the festivities, regardless of their means of transportation! Although boats are the most popular, anything that floats can be used – from an inflatable mattress to an old wooden door! Renting a boot is definitely recommended, as it is the most comfortable and enjoyable way to enjoy Fuikdag, but be sure to reserve in advance, as they fill up quickly on the day. Stop by and enjoy!

There are also plenty of other ways to celebrate with us, such as floating on other creative devices. However you decide to participate, you are sure to have a fun and memorable experience.

Fuikdag History
The celebration of this event began quite naturally. In the 1960s, the members of the Curaçao Yacht Club – owners of yachts and large sailboats – had a tradition of gathering at 6 a.m. on January 1 each year for a large, sumptuous breakfast. This was a friendly circle of friends who had come together to enjoy each other’s company. When the yacht club discontinued this breakfast, Eduardo Badaracco decided to take charge and organize the event himself.
He suggested taking the boat to Fuik Bay and making a fun day of it together. They agreed, although the date was changed to the first Sunday of the new year to make it easier for everyone.The tradition was then changed to the first Sunday of the New Year so they could get together, enjoy a nice day and keep the event going. And it has been a beloved tradition ever since!

Renting a boat in advance is important, as prices increase as the event gets closer and boats may not be available on the day. Consider booking your trip to Curaçao so that Fuikdag is one of the first days, allowing plenty of time for much-needed rest and relaxation after the party. With a little advance planning, you are guaranteed an unforgettable experience on Fuikdag!
But to make sure you get the most out of your trip to Curacao, it’s best to prepare in advance. Renting a boot for the party can be tricky if you don’t plan ahead. Boats fill up quickly, so be sure to reserve your boat months before Fuikdag to avoid disappointment.
Also, prices often rise closer to the event, so it’s best to book as soon as possible. Finally, Fuikdag is one big party – so it’s a good idea to plan your trip so that the party takes place at the beginning of your vacation, so you have plenty of time to relax and recover afterward!

The boats have their own music system, so plenty of party! No DJs, but there are enough around the boats.
The boats can comfortably carry around 30 people.
The deposit is for the full amount, unless you want to reserve with more than 10 people, we can discuss the conditions. Please contact us for this. Payment can be made via bank transfer, credit card, PayPal, etc. So you always have proof and it is 100% safe and guaranteed.
The departure and return times are 9:00 am – 6:30 pm
If you want to reserve tickets, do so as soon as possible. There is always a lot of interest, most parties are already sold out and we cannot guarantee when we are also sold out.
Unfortunately this can never be guaranteed. Our boats leave at 9 a.m., so they have a good place. Unfortunately, nobody can guarantee that this is really “close to the party”. The DJ boats only arrive at the end of the morning / beginning of the afternoon and nobody knows in advance where they will lie down. That is also due to the boats that are already present and there is no set plan for it .. So you have to be lucky … But as you can see in the videos, there is no ‘party in just one place’ and of course you can always get on a pool or inflatable mattress.
Yes, all our boats have roofs, or at least (bimini) tops making it possible to hide from the sun. More information about and pictures from the boats can be found under the ‘Boat Info’ section.
